PLAN THE SHOW BEFORE THE EQUIPMENT
BEFORE YOU INSTALL
Plan your cameras, audio, guest connections and control surfaces around the show you want to run.
Start with what you want your show to do. The right setup depends on cameras, guests, recording choices and control surfaces—not just a computer specification.

WHAT YOUR SHOW NEEDS
Switch cameras and show graphics
You need: OBS-compatible camera or capture inputs, the configured CueBrio services and Companion, and a computer capable of your chosen show workload.
Before the show: Confirm every camera at the intended resolution and frame rate, including its reconnect behavior.
Alternative: Use fewer inputs or a lighter show layout if the computer or capture path cannot sustain the full show.
Let Auto Switch follow individual people
You need: An independently accessible audio signal for each person you want the system to distinguish.
Before the show: A combined microphone mix cannot identify which local host is speaking. Input count alone does not prove independent channels are available to the software.
Alternative: Use manual camera buttons until an appropriate independent-channel route is configured.
Bring in remote guests
You need: A working guest video connection and a return mix containing the show audio each guest needs, without their own voice coming back to them.
Before the show: Check each return path with a real guest. Headphones and different call applications can require different mixes.
Alternative: Keep separate return routes for recipients with different needs; do not combine them simply to reduce device count.
Record the finished show or separate cameras
You need: A recording destination with enough sustained write speed and free space for the show length and number of recordings.
Before the show: Separate camera recordings and replay add workload and storage use. The program-drive warning does not measure every separate recording destination.
Alternative: Record the finished show only, or reduce the number of separate recordings after reviewing the production plan.
Operate from a tablet or phone
You need: Access to the configured studio on the local network. Trusted HTTPS is needed for supported installed-app and keep-awake features.
Before the show: Browser, operating-system and power-saving behavior affect fullscreen and screen-awake support. A control surface does not replace the production computer.
Alternative: Use the browser controller and the device's supported display/power settings when an installed-app feature is unavailable.
Use physical keys
You need: The configured Stream Deck application, Companion integration and matching profile for the selected hardware.
Before the show: The reference workflows include XL Solo, XL Paired and a standard 15-key Show Wing.
Alternative: Use Touch or Director without buying a Stream Deck.
WHAT IS VERIFIED TODAY?
macOS
Reference studio in use
The current configured studio runs on Mac. This is not certification of every Mac, capture device or audio interface.
Windows
Compatibility not yet verified
Do not assume Mac device, plugin or audio-routing configurations transfer unchanged to Windows. Confirm your intended setup before choosing equipment.
RME Fireface UCX II / TotalMix
Used in the reference studio
The documented Mac routing has separate host-send and headphone destinations, plus separate Discord and VDO returns. It is one configured recipe, not a universal hardware requirement or automatic setup promise.
Other audio interfaces and capture devices
Model-specific validation pending
A manufacturer-supported device is not automatically a tested CueBrio combination. Driver, OS, independent-channel access, capture mode and routing must be checked for the intended workflow.
Validated minimum/recommended CPU, memory and GPU tiers; model-by-model Mac/Windows compatibility; current buying recommendations; signed guided installers. Please confirm your intended setup before purchasing equipment specifically for CueBrio.
